Nigeria has dropped one spot to 35 in the world in the latest ranking released by the football governing body, FIFA, on Thursday.

The latest drop comes despite Nigeria’s positive outing against Brazil in the last international break earlier this month when the Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by the Samba Boys in the National Stadium, Singapore.

The drop sees Nigeria move from number 34 last month to 35, making it the third consecutive drop since winning bronze in the AFCON2019 held in Egypt.

In the continent, Nigeria retained her third place, however, as the top 10 remained unchanged with Cameroon and Congo DR the only two countries to gain points.

The Indomitable Lions and Congo DR improved on their last ranking, moving one spot each from 53 and 55 to 52 and 54 in the world respectively.

Meanwhile, in the world, Belgium is still ranked number one, while Uruguay crashed into the top five replacing European Champions, Portugal, as the fifth-best football nation.
