Rangers head coach, Russell Martin, has revealed that Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers has “probably played his last game” for the club, www.aclsports.com reports.
The 30-year-old Nigerian international, who has scored 52 goals in 116 games for the Ibrox club, came on as a substitute in Sunday’s goalless draw with Celtic.
Speaking after the barren affair in the Old Firm derby, Rangers boss Martin did not reveal where Dessers is going exactly, but the former Genk striker has been linked with a move to Greece.
“Cyriel has probably played his last game for us,” the Rangers boss told BBC Scotland.
“We’ve agreed something with another club. We’ll see how that goes in the next 24 hours.”
Rangers saw Hamza Igamane complete a move to Lille last week, while Bojan Miovski—joining from Girona after a stint with Aberdeen—led the line in Sunday’s fixture.
On further incomings before Monday night’s transfer deadline, Martin added: “We hope to definitely have a couple in, and we’ll see what happens after that depending on who goes here.”
Martin, while speaking about a possible interest in Everton striker Youssef Chermiti, said: “He’s a player we like. I’m sure you’ll find out very soon.”
Meanwhile, a report from Inside Ibrox has disclosed that the striker, who is in line for his first competitive appearance for the Super Eagles next month, is on his way to Greek side Panathinaikos.
