Spanish La Liga side Valencia CF have completed the signing of Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar from Real Sociedad, www.aclsports.com reports.

The Nigerian international has had a torrid time at Real Sociedad after returning from his initial loan spell to Valencia. After failing to get regular playing time in La Real, the 28-year-old has now opted to return to the Mestalla permanently until June 2028.

The former Almeria man joined Valencia back in January 2025 before going ahead to score six times in 19 matches for them, becoming a key figure and making a clear impact in attack during the second half of the campaign, in which the team significantly improved its results.

💬 Sadiq: “I wanted to return to Valencia CF; it’s the best place I can be. Both the Club and I have done everything possible to make it happen”

Speaking after his unveiling, Sadiq said, ”I’m very excited and happy. I’ve been waiting since last summer and, finally, I’m here. I’m the happiest guy in the world. I wanted to come back here; I’ve done everything possible.”

”The Club has also made the greatest possible effort. I’m very happy to return. Valencia CF is one of the biggest clubs in Spain, and you can feel it in the culture and the people: they never abandon the Club.”

“One of the things that made me come back is ambition. Last season, I saw how the fans demanded results, and that brought out the best in me. Even though I came for half a season, I knew this was the best place to be and to show what I can do,” the lanky striker concluded.

During his first stint, Sadiq won the LALIGA EA SPORTS Goal of the Month for March for his backheel goal against CA Osasuna. He is expected to add some firepower attacking line under head coach Carlos Corberán.
