The Chairman of Remo Sporting Club, Kunle Soname has pledged to support Para sports in Nigeria. Soname disclosed this at the recently concluded Valuejet Para Table Tennis (PTT) Open in Lagos.

Kunle Soname said he will give maximum attention to Para Powerlifting, Para Table Tennis and other Para sports who have made the country proud.

He said, “For me, it is Para sports. These are people who are technically at disadvantage by virtue of their plight.

“It is important for us to support whatever they are doing in whatever way we can. Three weeks ago, the South West Para Powerlifting Championship was held in Ijebu Ode. So anything Para speaks to me and I feel we should do all we can to support the para athletes”.

Soname expressed delight over the news that the Valuejet Para Table Tennis (PTT) Open may be listed on the ITTF event calendar in 2020.

He said, “I got a scoop from the federation president that the ITTF has said they will include the Valuejet Para Table Tennis (PTT) Open in their calendar for the coming years and that is awesome.  I am very sure that this tournament will still be last for many, many years”.
