The head coach of Nigeria U18 handball team, Emeka Nnamani told www.aclsports.com that the mentality of the players towards the IHF has affected their performance.
Nnamani said Nigeria is blessed with players who can play anywhere in the world adding that the Ardova League has created an enabling environment for players to strive.
He said, “I have been to the IHF Continental and Intercontinental Trophy; I can tell you that the world already knows Nigeria. A lot of handball players have improved drastically due to them attending the Trophy while others got clubs within and outside Africa.
“Before we left Nigeria, I educated them on the numerous advantages of the IHF Trophy Africa Zone 3 and reasons why we need to scale through for the continental phase. Once we get to the Continental level, I am sure the young players will give their best for the country.
“The stability in the handball league has given the Federation and coaches the opportunities to have a large number of players to select. I want to thank those involved in ensuring the league brings out the best in players and coaches,” he added.
