Nigeria lost to Chinese Taipei 27-26 in the U19 final of the IHF Challenge Trophy in Pristina, Kosovo. Chinese Taipei led Nigeria 14:11 in the first half of the game.

On the second day of games at Kosovo 2019 these two teams met with the Asian side completely dominating, up 10 at the break (18-8), before winning by 22 (36-18).

Reacting to the performance of the U19 team, the president of Handball Federation of Nigeria, Samuel Ocheho said the boys played with renewed determination in the finals.

He said “Although the boys lost by 27-26 I am more than satisfied with their performance. I watched ever single minute of the game and all I will say is that the boys played with renewed determination”.

“During the game, I saw a Nigeria team who went out with all their strength and showed willingness to win but the game did not go their way”, he added

Ocheho said, “These boys beat us with 18 goals and now just one goal. That is a sign that we are already getting it right”.
