Reactions have continued to trail the hosting of the national female basketball team, D’Tigress, by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja early Wednesday.

Super Falcons player, Faith Ikidi, who reacted President Buhari hosting D’Tigress, drew his attention to the fact that the female football team is yet to be hosted too.

Last year, Nigeria secured their record eight African title even as Coach of the Nigeria team, Omagbemi became the second individual to win the AWCON as a player and a coach.

Ikidi said the neglect is totally unacceptable to her and the team.

Ikidi on her Twitter handle, @ikidifaith tweeted, “Nice one mr president, but the superfalcon is yet to be hosted too. Last year the super falcons won the 8th African women nation cup up till date nothing was done for the team this is unacceptable [sic].”

The Nigerian Super Falcons emerged champions of Africa again after beating Cameroon 1-0 in the finals of the 2016 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations on Saturday.

The Nigeria defender currently plays for Pitea IF of the Swedish Damallsvenskan.

Ikiri has represented Nigeria on the senior national team since 2004 and in November 2006, she helped the team win its fifth African Women’s Championship after defeating Ghana 1–0.
