Former Niger Brass player, Attahiru Ibrahim has expressed his desires to organise volleyball tournament across the 16 Local Government Areas in Kwara state in 2021.

The former Patigi Slickers player told www.aclsports.com that players under the age of 13 will be given the opportunity to showcase their hidden talents, groom and properly mentored.

Ibrahim said clubs in the state will be busy due to the program lined up in the year before major national championships.

He said, “This is the right time for volleyball to grow in Kwara state. My desire as an ex volleyball player is to take volleyball to the 16 Local Government Areas in Kwara state. I have seen children play with passion and zeal but it is time to harness their talents.

“I shall not be focusing only on the senior players but channeling my energy to organising tournaments for the U13 players and other under age championships in Kwara state.

“Asides age grade events, other programs I am lining up are Inter Local Government Championship and Inter Club Championship between volleyball clubs in Kwara. This will prepare our players ahead of national tournaments and make them fit for the challenges ahead”.

The former Suleja Spikers player charged sportsmen and women to be focused in their respective sports.

“I want all the sportsmen and women to be disciplined, resilient and hard-working. With these qualities, they will be able to excel at their various sports”, he added.
