Head coach of Nigeria Men’s Handball Senior Team, Rafiu Salami has announced his final 16-man squad for the forthcoming African Cup of Nations in Cairo, Egypt, www.aclsports.com gathered.

The 26th African Men’s Handball Championships will be held from 17th to 27th January, 2024 in Egypt.

The list consists of three goalkeepers, nine defenders, five midfielders and eight forwards.

Benin Republic-based goalkeeper Michael Agbaji is picked alongside Obinna Okwor (Confluence Stars) and Abass Muhammed (Niger United HC). Ibrahim Dikko and Hakeem Salami of Adidja HC were selsted for the positions of Centre Back.

Eight players will be making their debut for the senior national team includes; Abass Muhammed, Ibrahim Dikko, Joseph Gbawuan, Daniel Bello, John Shagari, Hakeem Salami, Andrew Ojo and Osamwonyi Olaye.

The Golden Arrows will kick off their quest and will take on Angola on Wednesday, 17th January in their first match of Group D, before further clashes with Tunisia on January 19 and Kenya on January 21.

All 16 players will depart Nigeria for Cairo, Egypt on Monday and have two days to acclimatize with the weather condition and for training sessions.

Right Wing: Osamwonyi Olaye and Gbenga cole

Left Wing: Anas Muhammad and Andrew Ojo
