The head coach of Rima Queens, Abdulhakeem Yakubu has promised an improved outing ahead of the 2023 Ardova Handball Premier League.
The Rima Queens will face Delta Queens at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, when the Ardova League kicks off on 2nd July, 2023 on Sunday.
Yakubu told www.aclsports.com that Rima Queens stand a chance of winning the 2023 Ardova Handball Premier League.
He stated that the quality of the new recruits has boosted the team and increased the level of competition.
Rima Queens have a brighter chance of winning the league. Few months ago, some of our girls made it to the IHF U18 Girls’ Challenge Trophy (Zone 3) in Ghana where they came first and made a huge impact in the team.
“Our target is to be among the Top 3 at this year’s Ardova Handball Premier League. You should expect something good from us when the league resumes,” Yakubu told www.aclsports.com.
“With the addition of two new quality players we have in the team, definitely we are good to go.”
Meanwhile, Yakubu said the men’s team (Sokoto Rima) is presenting a decent squad in this year’s league.
He said, “Sokoto Rima had a decent team at the previous handball team. This time around, we have built the team to an extent of coming out among the best three in the league. Four players have been recruited to beef up the team”.
