Nigeria U18 and U20 men’s teams have arrived in Accra ahead of the 2024 International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy Africa Zone 3 Phase, www.aclsports.com reports.

The 2024 IHF Trophy Zone 3 will be held from 20 to 24 February 2024 at the Borteyman Multipurpose Sports Hall, Accra Ghana.

The national coach of Nigeria U18 Youth team, Emeka Nnamani and coach of Nigeria U20 Youth team, Fidelis Obi released their 14-man list after two weeks of intense training at the Rowe Park Sports Center.

The trio of Faruk Kareem, Azeez Sulaiman and Christian Folaki were included in coach Nnamani’s team while Niger United star, John Shagari will be leading the U20 squad after gathering much experience at the 2024 African Nations Cup last January.

While in Accra, the Nigerian teams will campaign in a round robin competition with the under 18 side playing in the Youth category alongside Benin Republic, host Ghana and Togo while the under 20 team face the likes of Benin Republic, Cote d’ivoire, Ghana, Liberia and Togo in the Junior category.

The Nigerian squads will begin their campaign on Tuesday 20 February as the under 18 team face Benin Republic at 2pm Nigeria time while the under 20 team play Liberia at 8pm.
