He said, “I feel so happy returning back to my former club side; I have played with most of the current players and we know ourselves on and off the court. My decision to re-join TojeMarine is borne out of more playing time and the philosophy of the team.

“I played for TojeMarine in the 2020 National Division One League where we gained promotion into the topflight league and I played in the Prudent Energy Handball League in 2021. I know what it takes to become a champion because I won the league with Niger United last season. I want to win the title with TojeMarine and become one of the youngest players to win the league with two different clubs’ ‘.

Shagari who won a bronze medal with the senior national team at the 13th African Games in Ghana promised to transfer his wealth of experience gathered within the last two years into the team.

He said, “Winning a bronze medal at the 13th African Games in Ghana is a big deal for me. In January, I was part of the squad that won the President Cup at the 26th African Men’s Nations Cup in Egypt, I hope to transfer my health of experience into the club side.

“I want to urge younger players looking up to me to continue working hard and do their best to achieve their dreams,” he added.
