Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has given Napoli fans a taste of what to expect from him after an outstanding performance in their 11-0 win over L’Aquila in a friendly on Friday.

Osimhen scored a remarkable 8-minute hattrick in what was his first match in Napoli colours as they hammered their opponents.

The 21-year-old striker opened the scoring with a quick double in the opening three minutes before he completed his hattrick five minutes later with some style.

Osimhen also showed his playmaking skill as he turned provider for teammate, Hirving Lozano to tuck home Napoli’s eighth of an eventful evening.

The Super Eagles star is a new face in the Serie A side outfit who paid €50m to Ligue 1 side, Lille with some performance-related add-ons which could see the deal rise to €80m, making the 2015 U17 FIFA World Cup winner Nigeria’s most expensive player ever.

Osimhen joined Lille last summer from Belgian side Charleroi but after a productive first season in France during which he scored 18 goals in all competitions – despite the league ending after 28 games -, a big-money move came calling.

In Naples, Osimhen has been assigned the respected Number 9 shirt, the same number he now wears while representing Nigeria’s senior national team.

For the Eagles, Osimhen has four goals from his eight appearances and remains one of the few Nigerian footballers to have scored at every level of the national team (U17, U20, U23 and senior team).
