Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who is a free agent after leaving Chippa United, has continued to keep mum over his possible destination going into the rest of the season, www.aclsports.com reports.

After quite a successful stint at Chippa United, Nwabali decided to leave the Chilli Boys and has been without a club since the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco.

In a conversation with Soccer Laduma, Nwabali said he is linked with several clubs because the fans wish him well, but he still has not disclosed his next club.

“So, it’s rumours everywhere. When people wish you well, and they want you to do something, or they prefer you, you know,” the former Enyimba goalkeeper told SL.

“It’s not like it’s a bad idea, you know. Someone is bringing up the rumours or something else. But it’s not a bad idea. Seeing, you know, when someone is relevant and when they know this person’s quality and some other thing, you take them to some other place.”

Nwabali has been linked again with Kaizer Chiefs and is also drawing interest from Libyan sides, but the goalkeeper appears unbothered by the growing rumours.

“Rumours are always being rumours, you know. So, yeah. So, when you see me signing (for) any club, then you will know from the day I’m going, or probably the day I’m wearing the club’s shirt, yeah,” the 29-year-old shot-stopper concluded.

Transfer market free agent Nwabali reiterated that he will soon return to action, easing concerns over a potential lengthy absence that could have jeopardized his status as Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper.

“I’m not worried. So, I don’t really have, like, you know, a particular place or a particular country I want to play for, you see? So, anywhere that welcomes me well, I can play. So, that’s it.”

Meanwhile, reports in Tanzania also suggest that Simba SC are monitoring the situation and considering a move for the Super Eagles star, who was omitted by Éric Chelle from Nigeria’s squad for the March international friendlies.
