Super Falcons captain, Onome Ebi has revealed her optimism regarding the African champions’ chances in France 2019 Women’s World Cup despite what seems to be a tough group for the Falcons.

Speaking to ACLSports at the finale of the Asisat Oshoala football for girls clinic “I wasn’t expecting anything less,” the four time African cchampion said about the World Cup draws.

“Though it will be tough, I’m really happy with what the NFF has been doing by organising friendly matches and competitions that will help the team blend. I think with all that we can achieve something at the World Cup,” she added.

Speaking of tune up games, the Super Falcons will for the first time ever compete at the Cyprus Women’s Cup in February and the China based defender has welcomed this development. “In February we have the Cyprus Women’s Cup and I think it is a very very good move and I believe it will help us prepare well for the World Cup.”
