The management of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and its broadcast partners, Murphy Ben International (MBI), are now ready to broadcast more matches in the ongoing 2026/27 season, following the arrival of some production equipment.
In a memo to the EuroMatchNPFL clubs’ Chairmen and General Managers, Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman, the Chief Operating Officer, explained that there was a need to provide the broadcast partners access to more game days, which was not possible under the framework of the original fixtures.
”After several meetings with the broadcast partners, Murphy Ben International, and AfroSoccer, it was agreed that for fair and balanced coverage, clubs will be grouped in regional clusters to limit the logistics of travelling with fairly big outside broadcast equipment over long distances.
”Furthermore, it has been resolved to introduce Friday kick-offs, Friday night matches, early kick-offs on Saturdays, and Sundays at applicable venues”, the COO explained.
On his part, Olatunji Ayodele, the Team Lead for MBI, confirmed the recent acquisition, explaining that the digital approach significantly reduces the physical footprint traditionally associated with outside-broadcast production.
”Instead of relying on a large OB truck and extensive cabling infrastructure, MBI can deploy a mobile, modular production system that can be transported and configured quickly at different NPFL venues. The result is a more nimble production model that combines professional camera acquisition, IP-based contribution, local production and resilient internet connectivity—allowing MBI to scale its coverage while responding efficiently to the demands of live football production,” Ayodele told NPFL Media.
