Nigeria U17 Women’s team, the Flamingos, bronze medallists at the 2022 FIFAU17WWC, will face France, Canada, and Samoa in Group D of the upcoming edition of the tournament, which will take place in Rabat, Morocco, from 17 October to 8 November 2025, www.aclsports.com reports.

The draw for the ninth edition of the tournament was conducted at the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Rabat and is set to mark several historic milestones.

This year’s tournament will be the first to feature an expanded format of 24 teams and the first time the U17 Women’s World Cup will be hosted on African soil. All matches are scheduled to be played in Morocco’s capital, Rabat.

In the group stage draw, hosts Morocco were placed in Group A alongside Brazil, Costa Rica, and Italy.
Defending champions Korea DPR were drawn into Group B with Cameroon, Mexico, and the Netherlands.
Group C features the United States, China PR, Ecuador, and Norway, while Nigeria’s Group D includes France, Canada, and Samoa. Group E brings together Spain, Colombia, Korea Republic, and Côte d’Ivoire, while Group F features Japan, New Zealand, Paraguay, and Zambia.

The top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, will advance to the Round of 16.

Having clinched a historic third-place finish in India in 2022, The Flamingos will aim to surpass that achievement as they prepare to face formidable opponents in the group stage in Morocco.
