Nigeria senior women’s national team, D’Tigress white-washed Lady Hoopsters 130-33 in a tune-up game played at the Indoor Sports Hall, National Stadium, Lagos on Sunday.

The game which was earlier scheduled for Saturday September 2, was moved by 24 hours due to logistics.

Sunday’s friendly game was their second win in four games since camp opened on July 22 in Atlanta.

D’Tigress are scheduled to play some other female basketball teams and the senior men’s national team, D’Tigers before leaving for another friendly in Turkey.

D’Tigers camp is expected to open on Thursday, September 6 ahead of their FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in Lagos next weekend.

The 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup will dunkoff on September 22 in Tenerife, Spain.

African champions Nigeria are in Group B alongside Argentina, Turkey and 2006 champions Australia.

D’Tigress coach Otis Hughley said he is not carried away by the final result because his team can still get better.

“There are still a lot of things to work on. The practice session is just revelatory.

“It revealed the things that we need to look at and fix and when we go back to practice, we will take our time. We will fix it in part and put it together and fix it as a whole.”
