Ondo State on Monday took their medal tally to 11 medal at the ongoing National Youth Games in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Sunshine State female Judokas, Odunayo Babalola and Tolulope Adedeji won an additional two silver medals in the 36kg and 46kg category respectively, while Bosede Folorunsho got a bronze medal in the boy’s 46kg in Judo.

Akwa Ibom overtook Bauchi in second position after winning three gold, two silver and two Bronze medals. Theresa Okon produced a stunning performance in the weightlifting event snatching two gold and one silver as Uforoemem Bassey (44kg) defended her title in the Judo event. The second silver came in the Karate event through Peace Ekuta (-50kg).

Ogun State leaped three places to occupy third position gathering five medals consisting of two gold and three silver medals.

Bauchi moved two places down to occupy fourth position and maintained its two Gold medals.

Kano State is currently fifth with one gold and one bronze medals.

Oyo, Kastina, Sokoto, Delta, Kogi are states 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th respectively.

In the Karate event, Delta State’s Oghenevewopepe Elizabeth lost her gold medal to Sampson Godfirst from Oyo state in the – 50kg.

Elsewhere, Uforoemem Bassey of Bassey maintained her fine form seeing off a familiar foe and Happiness Agu of Delta State to win the gold medal in the 44kg female category in the Judo event.
