Nigerian football governing body Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday announced the disbursement of funds mopped from the continental and global bodies as well as their sponsors to clubs and organs under its jurisdiction.

World’s governing body FIFA had announced that a sum of $1.5m had been sent to each Member Association for the onward delivery to their organs in preparation for the new season.

The NFF have now risen from an Executive Committee meeting on Monday to present a breakdown of how the funds would be disbursed to the recipients.

A communique from Monday’s meeting reads in part:

“After consultations with the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Board endorsed the proposal from the Secretariat for the lump sum of $2,000,000.00 (Two Million American Dollar Only) to be shared across the various Clubs and governing bodies of the various Leagues, viz Nigeria Professional Football League, Nigeria National League, Nigeria Women Football League and the Nigeria Nationwide League, as a booster for their preparation ahead of the 2020/2021 League Season.

“The total sum is made up of $1,000,000 (being FIFA’s support for restarting the football season); $500,0000 (being FIFA’s dedicated support for women’s football); $300,000 (CAF’s support to its Member Associations); $200,000 (NFF’s support from Sponsors’ Funds).”

In the breakdown, it was recorded that each men’s football club in the elite division will receive a sum of $15,000 (N5.7m) each while clubs in the women’s top division will receive $10,000 (N3.8m) each.

The Federation also made provisions for Referees, Supporters Clubs, Journalist body and the men and women’s national teams among others.

Find the breakdown of the disbursement below.
