The Home-based Super Eagles, also known as Super Eagles B, intensified their preparations ahead of the final qualification round of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Tuesday, www.aclsports.com reports.

CHAN UPDATE

Enyimba duo - Ani Henry Ozoemena and Imo Obot - have teamed up with the CHAN Eagles in Ikenne and are currently part of Tuesday's morning session.

The number of players in camp is now 29, with the exception of Ossy Martins, who has been ruled out with a foot injury.

The Eagles started this final phase of preparations at the Remo Stars Facility in Ikenne, Ogun State last Wednesday, and for the first time since the camping started, the team trained with the full complement of players invited except Ossy Martins who has been ruled out with a foot injury.

In the absence of head coach Austin Eguavoen, assistant coaches Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Ilechukwu have been in charge of the training sessions, with Olatunji Baruwa drilling the goalkeepers. The team has been training twice a day ahead of the highly anticipated encounter with the Ghanaians.

After some work on the side’s defensive organization and zonal marking on Monday, the team focused on some team play, build-up, and combinations in Tuesday’s evening session. The training began with some stretches and muscle-relaxing routines before the players began gradual ball work and the work of the day.

All players took part in the training session with the likes of Saviour Isaac (Rangers), Papa Daniel (Niger Tornadoes), and Vincent Temitope (Plateau United) impressing in the session that lasted a little over two hours. The team will train on Wednesday at the same venue.
