CAF has praised the East African region for its readiness following the conclusion of the inspection tour across the host venues for the upcoming 2024 CHAN, scheduled to take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, www.aclsports.com reports.
The football governing body concluded an eight-day inspection tour of all facilities in preparation for the tournament, scheduled to take place from August 2 to 30, 2025, in the region.
The final phase of inspections and preparatory workshops began on Thursday, 3 July, in Nairobi, Kenya. There, the CAF team assessed facilities at Kasarani Stadium, which will host the tournament final, as well as the Nyayo International Stadium.
The delegation then travelled to Zanzibar to inspect the Amaan Stadium before moving on to Dar es Salaam’s Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, the venue set to host the opening ceremony of CHAN 2024. The inspection tour concluded on Thursday, 9 July, at the Mandela International Stadium in Kampala, Uganda.
Meanwhile, CAF has commended the governments and Local Organising Committees of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda for their dedication and partnership in ensuring the successful delivery of the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship.
Leading the inspection were CAF experts across critical departments, including Competitions, Marketing, Media, Broadcast, Safety & Security, and Infrastructure. They were joined by officials from the Local Organising Committees in each host country to ensure all aspects of the tournament preparations are on track.
