Manchester United have included Zlatan Ibrahimovic in their 2017/2018 Champions League squad despite reports he won’t be back until early next year.

The 36-year-old’s debut season in England was cut short when he suffered serious injury to his ligaments in April, during the Europa League quarter final clash against Anderlecht at Old Trafford.

However, despite manager José Mourinho confirming the former PSG man won’t be back until early next year, the Portuguese manager has included him in his team’s CL squad.

Ibrahimovic, who scored 28 goals in all competitions for United last season, recently put pen to paper on a one-year contract that will see him stay at the club until the summer of 2018.

Also included in United’s CL squad is striker, James Wilson, who has continued to struggle with injuries, while Marcus Rashford’ is included in the club’s team B.

The Red Devils are in Group A alongside Benfica, Swiss side, Basel and Russian outfit, CSKA Moskva.

United’s CL squad:
Goalkeepers- David De Gea; Sergio Romero

Defenders- Chris Smalling; Eric Bailly; Phil Jones; Victor Lindelof; Daley Blind; Luke Shaw; Marcos Rojo; Antonio Valencia; Matteo Darmian

Midfielders- Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard; Nemanja Matic; Ander Herrera; Marouane Fellaini; Michael Carrick; Juan Mata; Ashley Young; Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Forwards- Romelu Lukaku; Zlatan Ibrahimovic; James Wilson; Anthony Martial.
