The remaining Nigerian representatives on the continent, Rivers United and Plateau United, were pitted against clubs from Libya in the CAF Confederation draw made on Tuesday afternoon.

Champions Rivers United and the Peace Boys began their continental journey in the CAF Champions League until they were dumped out of the elite competition by North African sides. in contrasting fashion.

The Pride of Rivers were hammered 6-0 by Wydad Casablanca on Sunday to win the tie 7-2 on aggregate, while Plateau United were controversially booted out by Esperance via the away goal rule after the aggregate stood at 2-2.

As a result of their demotion, the two clubs found themselves in the final qualifying round for the Confed Cup group stages.

In the draw done on Tuesday, Rivers United got El Nasr Benghazi as their opponents, while Plateau United were handed a date with another Libyan side and debutants Al Akhdar.

Rivers United will host El Nasr at the Adokiyie Amiesimaka Stadium on November 2 before a trip to Libya a week later. Similarly, Plateau United will entertain Al Akhdar at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja in the first leg before travelling to Libya for the return leg.

The winners of the tie will qualify for the group stages of the competition.
