Botswana boys capture gold at AUSC Volleyball event

Botswana volleyball youth team captured the gold medal at the Africa Union Sport Council “AUSC” Region 5 Volleyball Competition held at Dithupo venue in Gaborone, Botswana.

Botswana beat Namibia 3-1 (25-15, 23-25, 25-5, 25-10) in their last match to end the competition undefeated and capture the gold medal with 9 points.

Namibia finished the competition in the third place with 3 points.

South Africa defeated Lesotho 3-0 (25-14, 25-9, 25-15). South Africa ended their campaign second with 6 points, while Lesotho with 0 points came the 4th.

In the girls competition Mozambique downed South Africa 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-13), while Angola crushed Namibia 3-1(23-25, 25-13, 25-10, 25-10).

 

 Boys Final standings:

Botswana- 9 points

RSA- 6 points

Namibia- 3 points

Lesotho- 0 points
