Atlantic Business secured a first-ever TCC Cup after defeating Dino 3-2 on penalties in the final, www.aclsports.com reports.

Both sides came into the game firing on all cylinders. With 4 wins each, very little separated both sides until Timi Destiny’s opener in the 3rd minute. He was in the right place at the right time to poke the ball home after a header fell kindly at his feet.

Conceding early did nothing to douse the vigour of Coach Godwin’s boys as they pushed back for the equaliser. Keeping their opponents at bay, they gradually grew into the game, finding their rhythm and maintaining momentum. All of that would lead to the 37th-minute equaliser. Adamu Terungwa danced his way past two markers before curling the ball beyond Solomon to draw his side level.

With parity restored, both sides went for the jugular. But despite the many chances they had, none would produce a goal, forcing the game into penalties.

Samuel Obudu saw his spot-kick saved before Friday Cornelius blazed his penalty over, both kicks doing nothing to ease the tension of players, managers and the fans. Dino, however, broke the duck with Abubakar Abdulrasheed scoring before Gbenga Johnson sent the goalie the wrong way to keep the score tied.

Both sides scored their third penalties before Daniel Effiong saw his spot kick saved. And with Tobi Ewarawon converting, God’s Own Team took the lead. Adamu Terungwa would go on to sky his penalty, handing victory to Coach Daniel Japhet’s side.

For Dino, it’s another TCC Cup final disappointment, a second consecutive final defeat. For Atlantic Business, it’s the perfect ending to what has been an unforgettable season.
