Athletics: Ivorian Ta Lou wins 200m Diamond League

Ivory Coast’s sprinter Marie-Josée Ta Lou won first place in the 200 metres women category of the 2018 IAAF Diamond League series step four held at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy on Thursday night.

Ta Lou finished at 22.49 seconds, her best personal record for the distance.

She was followed by Bulgarian Ivet Lalova-Coolio on 22.64 sec while Mujinga Kambundji from Switzerland came third with 22.76.

The Ivorian is currently leading the 200 metres table with 13 points, ahead of Kambundji (10 points) and Jamaican Shericka Jackson (9 points).

The fifth round of the Diamond League will take place in Oslo, Norway on June 7.

Ta Lou is world vice champion in the 100m, 200m and 60m categories.
