Ivorian female sprinters Murielle Ahouré and Marie-Josée Ta Lou have booked their places in the grand finale of the 2018 Diamond League after totalling enough points in the qualifiers which concluded in the 12th round in Birmingham, England during the weekend.

The final is scheduled for August 29 and 31 in Zurich (Switzerland) and Bruxelles (Belgium).

Ta Lou finished fourth in the 200 metres qualifiers with 25 points, which she claimed across five meetings in the category.

She will be facing the likes of Shericka Jackson from Jamaica, Jeanna Prandini and Gabrielle Thomas of the United States, Shaunae Miller-Uibo from Bahamas, Briton Dina Asher-Smith and Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands.

Ahouré topped the table of the qualifiers in the 100 metres discipline with 37 points.

She will be competing in the final alongside her compatriot Ta Lou, who came second (in 100m) with 32 points, Jamaican Elaine Thompson, Blessing Okagbare from Nigeria, Dina Asher-Smith of Great Britain and Dafne Shippers from Netherlands.
