The 2003 All African Games bronze medallist said, “I am so elated to beat Kano Pillars and end their unbeaten run after three years. I have been away for two years and it is really a welcome back victory for me.

“There is no champion forever and I was able to draw inspiration from my players because they were determined to beat the Kano Pillars HC team.

“We are going to take every match as they come. I have told the boys who are not in Benin City to impress anyone but give our best.”

Shittu revealed that he took the job of TojeMarine because of the familiar adding that he was familiar with the players.

He said, “I accepted the head coach of TojeMarine Academy because it is a familiar terrain. You are aware that I finished 2nd position with Lagos Seasiders on two occasions and 3rd position once. I am going to be mute for now and wait till the first phase ends.

“You know me quite well that I am always prudent in my expectations but we are poised for the challenge ahead”, he added.
