Former Super Eagles star, Daniel ‘Dan Bull’ Amokachi has been appointed as Nigeria’s Football Ambassador by President Muhammadu Buhari, www.ACLSports.com reports.

The appointment was confirmed on Tuesday via the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, with the former Super Eagles player and assistant coach expected to help scout for players.

While the post is more ceremonial, Amokachi will also help assist the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development in developing the sports in the country and also act as a mentor to young sports men and women.

Amokachi, a member of the 1994 Super Eagles Team that won the African Nations Cup (AFCON) in Tunisia, was also in the Nigerian Olympic Football Team at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics that won the Gold Medal.

In addition to his football exploits in Europe, especially in England where he
won the FA Cup with Everton in 1995, Amokachi ventured into management, with Nasarawa United and Enyimba Football Club of Aba, two of the club he has managed in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
