Lagos based side FC Robo Queens on Monday defeated Edo Queens 5-3 on penalties in the second semi final game of the 2021 Women’s Aiteo Cup to set up a final meeting with Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa.

Playing at the FIFA Goal Project pitch in Abuja, the Emmanuel Osahon tutored girls stood tall against their Edo Queens rivals and both teams could find a breakthrough in regulation time.

After full time scores stood at 0-0, the Lagos based side then scored all their five penalties while Sunshine had one of theirs denied by the upright to propel Robo to a first ever Cup final.

Robo will now face Bayelsa Queens in the 2021 Aiteo Cup final after Bayelsa annihilated fierce rivals Rivers Angels 5-0 in the first semi final on Sunday.

In the game decided at the Nest of Champions training pitch in Uyo, former Falconets star Peace Efih scored twice while former Rivers Angels winger Juliet Sunday also claimed a brace as they tore the CAF Champions League hopeful to shreds.

Angels’ woes were compounded early in the second half when Maryann Ezenagu’s spot kick was saved by Sandra Chi Chi as Edwin Okon’s ladies suffered the worst defeat in their history.

The Women’s Aiteo Cup final has been scheduled for August 4, 2021 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
