Aiteo Cup: Kano Pillars face Kwara United in R16 again

Former league champions Kano Pillars will face relegated Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Kwara United in the round of 16 of this year’s tournament, making it a second successive year both teams will clash at this stage of the competition.

Both teams faced at the Agege Stadium in Lagos last September in the group stage of the round of 16 but will now face in a knockout format on Monday.

Lobi Stars of Makurdi will face Abia Warriors in an all-NPFL clash while Rivers United and Warri Wolves will clash in a Southern derby at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.

There is also a South West Derby between Smart City of Lagos and Shooting Stars of Ibadan while two relegated NPFL sides Bendel Insurance and El-Kanemi Warriors will do battle.

All the games will be decided on Sunday and Monday.
