Nigeria Falconets continued their impressive run of form in the semifinal clash against Algeria as Cynthia Aku scored twice to hand the African giants a place in the final of the women’s football event at the ongoing African Games in Morocco.

The Falconets started the game the brighter side, carving out chances time and time again and it was only a matter of time before the Nigerian side went ahead against their Algerian counterparts.

It was Cynthia Aku and Monday Gift who did the most with the former getting her brace assisted by the latter in the 16th and 26th minute of the game to put Nigeria firmly in control as Chiamaka Nnadozie barely had anything to do in goal for the Falconets.

After the restart, Nigeria continued from where they left off in the first half but couldn’t make the chances count despite the continued dominance.

Substitute Zainab Olopade, however, put the icing on the cake in the final minute of regulation time to make it three goals to the good for Nigeria who strolled into the final of the women’s football event in Morocco.
