AFN Pre 13th African Games Meets hold in February

Plans have been concluded to organise the AFN Pre African Games Evaluation Meet at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja next February (2024), www.aclsports.com gathered.

In a statement signed by the Secretary General of Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Rita Mosindi, the Evaluation Meets has been split into two phase in the month of February to accommodate the large number of athletes.

The first phase of the Meet is scheduled for 2nd to 3rd February while the second phase will hold 16th to 17th February in Abuja.

According to the statement, the approved events for the men’s category includes; 100m, 400m, 1,500m, 400mH, High Jump, Long Jump and Javelin while the events for the women’s category are; 100m, 400m, 800m, 100mH, Triple Jump, Discus and Race Walk

The statement revealed that prizes will be available for 1st to 6th positions in the men and women’s events.

The 13th edition of the African Games is scheduled for 8th to 13th March in Ghana.
