The board members of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) on Wednesday passed a vote of confidence on its Technical Director, Sunday Adeleye at a board members meeting.

Some athletes on Sunday called for the removal of Sunday Adeleye as the Technical Director during the AFN trials for the African Athletics Championships slated for Asaba, Delta State.

Nine members of the AFN gave the nod for Adeleye to double as the Athletes representatives and Technical Director of the AFN.

Board members absent at the meeting were: Vice President, Honorable Olumide, AFN technical representative; Brown Ebewele, Fidelis Gadzama and Rosa Collins.
