CAF has concluded plans to send its experts to the three Nations – Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda – that will host the next edition of the AFCON in 2027, www.aclsports.com reports.
Following the successful hosting of the 2025 edition in Morocco, attention has now shifted to the three East African countries, as they prepare to host the rest of Africa next year. The CAF Executive Committee and the CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe, will be in Tanzania on Friday, 13 February 2025.
Meanwhile, the inspection visits by the technical experts kicked off earlier this week and will run until Tuesday, 17 February, as CAF applies its strict, world-class delivery standards. The assessments will cover pitch requirements, safety and security, infrastructure, and other places listed for usage during the tournament.
CAF’s inspections began in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, and they will continue with site visits to Arusha and Zanzibar. In Zanzibar, CAF experts will also inspect Amaan Stadium and Fumba Stadium, a venue that the Tanzania Local Organising Committee (LOC) has earmarked for the tournament.
Meanwhile, the team will then conduct inspections in Nairobi, Kenya. The programme includes Kasarani Stadium, Nyayo Stadium, and Talanta Sport Stadium, as well as key training sites such as the Ulinzi Sport Complex and the Kenya Academy of Sports.
In Uganda, visits will be extended to Entebbe and Kampala, to see the Mandela National Stadium and designated training sites, as well as the Hoima City Stadium in Hoima.
CAF will continue to work closely with the three host nations, their governments, and LOC structures to support delivery planning and ensure that preparations intensify for the AFCON Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania 2027.
