Following Tuesday’s win against Uganda, Eric Chelle’s men breezed through Group C with a perfect record and were only waiting for the country that would finish third in Group F on Wednesday.

Defending champions, Cote d’Ivoire, who defeated the Super Eagles in last year’s final, came from two goals down to beat Gabon in their final group game to win top spot in Group F, while Cameroon, who defeated Mozambique 2-1 in Agadir, finished second.

The Eagles will now face Mozambique, a side they have never lost to, in their round of 16 tie on Monday, 5th January in Fes. The game is scheduled to kick off at 8pm (Local time/Nigerian time). Other interesting second round ties include Algeria v DR Congo, South Africa v Cameroon, and Mali v Tunisia.
