The Cadet and Junior teams of the Egyptian, Cameroonian and Tunisian teams landed in Nigeria without their senior teams.

Amri, an Olympic Bronze medalist is sure to face stiff opposition from Nigeria’s Bisola Makanjuola in the 59kg weight category who she defeated by Technical Superiority 12-0 at the 2017 Africa Wrestling Championships in Marrakech, Morocco.

Elsewhere, Olympian Samr Hamza in a chat with aclsports.com confirmed that she’ll be in Nigeria on Wednesday.

She said, “I’m not in Nigeria at the moment with the other teams but I’ll be in the country today (Wednesday)”.

Meanwhile, Annabel Laure Ali who stopped Nigeria’s Blessing Onyebuchi from attending the Olympics last two years (through defeat) is leading new crops of senior women wrestlers to the country.

The Africa Wrestling Championships begins today (07/02/2018) with the Cadet Greco-Roman event.
