President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, Francis Orbih has confirmed that Africa’s number one ranked Badminton female Player Adesokan Dorcas of Ogun will be going on a training tour in Europe as part of Tokyo 2020 Olympics programme.

Orbih revealed that apart from Adesokan who is currently in camp alongside 15 other players in Katsina preparing for the Algeria International Championships in February, a Nigerian umpire will also officiate at the Championship which is slated for February 7-19.

‘’The Badminton Confederation of Africa BCA has agreed to sponsor Dorcas for a training tour in Europe on a date yet to be decided. One umpire will also be sponsored by BCA for a workshop and also officiate at the Algeria International Circuit 2018 in February,” Orbih said.
Meanwhile, Badminton Federation of Nigeria is leaving no stone unturned ahead of the Lagos International Badminton Championship in July.

In a bid to develop more Nigerian umpires with the latest technology, Orbih confirmed that the Badminton Confederation of Africa will organize a comprehensive workshop for umpires which will be taken by a Badminton World Federation official and there will be a Para-Badminton workshop in October 2018.
