Zaniab Momoh shines at 1st Golden Star Badminton championship

Zainab Momoh of Oyo state won a gold and bronze medal at the just concluded 1st Katsina Golden Star Badminton championship.

The lanky player in the doubles, paired with Augustina Sunday representing FCT, defeated the duo of Peace Orji (Kaduna) and Deborah Ukeh (Edo) in the women’s final while Zainab beat Felicia Omotola (Ogun) state to win the bronze medal in the singles event.

Reacting to her feat, Momoh told aclsports.com that the doubles was challenging pairing with Augustina but they eventually blended after their first game.

“Well in the doubles it was a very good Challenge. The communication between I and my partner was superb after the first game” she said. “We are so proud for making it to the top by winning a gold medal. It was a very good fight, thanks to God for this”, Momoh said.

On her next move after Kastina, Momoh said she’s shifting focus to the first Mutual Benefit Assurance Championship takes off in Lagos from November 15th to 18th. “I’m moving to Lagos to see how to enter into the final of the single. Dorcas Adesokan is in form and I’ll want to sweat it out with her”, she added
