The Governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has approved the renovation of the AstroTurf and rubber Tartan Track of the Lekan Salami sports complex.

The acting General manager, Gboyega Makinde disclosed this to aclsports.com on Monday.

He said the contract was signed two weeks ago and the contractor is expected to begin work by June 1st.

“The contract has been signed. It was signed two weeks ago and immediately after the contract was signed, the contractor is expected to move to site by June 1st but he’s not going to do that because Shooting Stars is playing in the National Nigeria League (NNL)”, he said.

“The contractor will give Shooting Stars the opportunity to play her last match by middle of August. Immediately after the end of the season, the contractor will move in fully”.

“I know that the contractor according to contract agreement, will be given 60% mobilisation fee to start the project, which I am sure would have been moved to his account now”, Makinde added.

He said the swimming pool and the Indoor sports hall will be commercialised.

“The governor approved that some of the facilities at the sports complex be commercialised and it includes the swimming pool, the amphitheatre and the Indoor sports hall. The advert has been made about six months ago and we are still expecting prospective clients to pick up some of these facilities if they are interested”, he said.
