Lagos-based side, FC Robo travel to Ogbomosho where they face league debutants, Jokodolu Babes in week three of the league season.

FC Robo go into their first South West derby of the season with four points and a goal from two games while Jokodolu Babes have one point from two games; after a 3-0 loss to high flying Sunshine Queens in their first ever league derby.

Speaking to ACLSports on his assessment of his team so far, Head coach of FC Robo, Emmanuel Osahon said: “The team is relatively young and it is getting better and improved. We have several options compared to last season.”

FC Robo started the season away to champions, Nasarawa Amazons where they picked a point and won at home the following week against Adamawa Queens. Osahon explains the different approach employed for both games and how the team would approach the game at Ogbomosho.

“We regarded the opponent as the defending champions and played all our heart out to stop them and try to pull a win but it eventually ended in a draw. At home, it was a more relaxed approach and taking the match in our own style.

On the derby he said: “We don’t see them as underdogs; hence, we will leave no stone unturned. We will come out strong against them from start to finish.”

He added that he is “impressed with the improvement of the girls. They have fully grown to league standard despite their age compared to last season.”

Finally, when asked what his ideal result for the game would be, Osahon said: “nothing but a win.”

The South West derby between Jokodolu Babes of Ogbomosho and FC Robo of Lagos, will take place on Wednesday afternoon by 4pm at the Soun Township Stadium.
