Defending champions, Real Madrid, proved that their win in last season’s final at Cardiff was no fluke, after a comfortable victory over the same team.

Los Blancos thrashed Juventus 3-0, with Cristiano Ronaldo netting a brace, including a remarkable overhead kick goal to double his team’s advantage in the second half of their CL quarter final first leg match.

It was the Portuguese’s 14th of the CL season, earning him a deserved standing ovation from the home fans, who were left purring by the 33-year-old former Manchester United forward.

But spectators at the magnificent Allianz stadium in Turin were not the only ones left awed by Ronaldo’s wonder strike, social media users ran out superlatives to describe the goal.

Someone once said to me (or I might have read it):

If an artist created the perfect footballer, it would be Lionel Messi. If an engineer created the perfect footballer, it would be Cristiano Ronaldo.

We are so lucky to live in this era.

Although it’s no more a news but we need to repeat it because of those who have decided to ignore the fact. Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest footballer alive.
