The coach of Kada Emeralds, Vincent Unogwu has warned her opponents not to underrate his team ahead of the 2019 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League in Asaba.

The 2019 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League is scheduled for 13th to 21st July at the Indoor sports hall of Stephen Keshi International stadium in Asaba, Delta State.

Unogwu told www.aclsports.com that Kada Emeralds is ready to dislodge the top teams in the league.

He said the Kaduna based team has gained exposure after the 2018 league which includes the 2018 National Sports Festival in Abuja and the Zone 3 CAVB Club Championship in Lagos”.

Unogwu said, “I am aware most people will consider Kada Emeralds as an  underdog in the forthcoming Premier League but I must warn the never to underrating us will be at your peril.

“The three top teams should watch out for surprises from the state team; Kada is going all out for winning”.

He further said, “Our players had two major exposures after last year’s league; the 2018 National Sports Festival and the zone 3 CAVB championship. In the National Sports Festival, we won bronze and finished 5th place at the Zone 3 CAVB Club Championship.

“It was a thing of great courage because the players have the responsibility to maintain the standard of winning. In zone 3, we knew our limitations and we have work on them”.

He said the team has changed the coaching techniques and are looking towards a better outing in Asaba.

Unogwu said, “We have beef up the team and changed our coaching techniques from teaching raw players basics to mastering skills. So we are looking towards a different and better outing. The future of Kada Emeralds is bright and promising, full of young players and great support from the management. It is time we give back to our sponsor with victory.

“Kada Emeralds as usual is a team that reflects the philosophy of our chairman Engineer Musa Nimrod who believes in the human side of the game. We are preparing hard and different from last year; our aim is to consolidate on our feat last year”.
