The head coach of Nigeria women’s volleyball team, Usman Abdallah has warned Morocco not to underestimate his team in the volleyball event at the ongoing 2019 African Games in Morocco.

Abdallah stated this after Nigeria secured her first win against Botswana 3-1 (25-13, 22-25, 25-20, 25-15) at the Salle Omnisport Bouazzaoui hall.

The ex international said the win against Botswana would have been Nigeria second win at the tournament.

He said, “The game against host, Morocco is going to be a decider. If we play exactly the way we played against Botswana with high spirit and team work, I believe we can beat the Moroccans.

“I am so excited that we got our first win against Botswana but it is very unfortunate that today would have been our second win but we could not do few things.

“Today, the girls played like a team and the result has shown and I hope we play the next match against the host like this; I believe we will be hearing a different result”.

He further said, “Our service is our weapon and we have this problem of attacking from the side and today you can see that they were executing from both sides and the blocks were better in this game; the reception perfect once you have a god reception, service and block; you will get points.
