The head coach of Gambia U19 Boys, Marie Wadda has told the Nigerian team to prepare for war ahead of their game on Saturday.

Wadda stated this after Gambia overpowered Morocco 3-2 (25-15, 25-27, 25-21, 20-25, 16-14) in the U19 Boys 2021 African Nations Volleyball Championship in Abuja on Friday.

She told www.aclsports.com that the Nigeria team is a threat to Gambia at the Championship adding that they want to qualify for the World Championship in Iran.

Wadda said, “Nigeria U19 Boys should prepare for war on the court because we are at the Championship for business.

“Most pundits did not give us a chance against Morocco but we ensured we left no stone unturned and won the game”.

“Nigeria is the defending champions of the U19 Championship that is why they are a threat to us. We did not come here as spectators but to win the tournament and attend the World Championship” she told www.aclsports.com

Commenting on the game against Morocco, Wadda said “The game was not an easy game, but our determination was to come and win. If you look at it, the championship is a round robin and we have to win our first game.

“We are going back on the board to adjust and amend our errors, sit out proper and we will have a better play in the second game”.
