Nigerian champions Enyimba continued their poor away form this season after they were beaten 1-0 by Algerian side AC Paradou in a Total CAF Confederation Cup (TotalCAFCC) game played on Sunday.

Enyimba’s compatriots, Rangers International were held 0-0 by Mauritanian side FC Nouadhibou in their own Group A encounter.

Enyimba went into Sunday’s game in second place in Group D and needing to avoid a defeat against the Algerians to cement their position at the halfway stage.

Usman Abd’Allah’s started well but soon let their grip slip, losing in the end to Abdelkader Ghorab’s 64th minute after Enyimba’s Austin Oladapo lost possession in his own half.

Group D leaders Hassania Agadir were held 1-1 at bottom club FC San Pedro in Abidjan meaning that a win for Enyimba in the reverse fixture in a fortnight will take them back to second in the group.

In Nouakchott, Rangers continued their winless run under Salisu Yusuf as they failed to find a cutting edge, leaving them third on the log and rendering their qualification chances extremely tougher.

Group A leaders Pyramids continued their 100% record in the group stage after a 2-1 win away to domestic rivals Al Masry in Alexandria.
