A host of African players play in Europe week in week out. Some put in outstanding performance that can’t go without mention. Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is one of the players flying the color of the West African nation in one of the biggest football club in Europe, Atletico Madrid.

The 25 year old midfielder has distinguish himself in Europe elite club that he has what it takes to make it to the top and become one of the biggest African star Ghana have ever produced, which made punters confident in his success. Joining Atletico as an academy player and progressing to the first team is a story that need to be told more as many don’t make it to the top like that. In the light of that, the rate at which football fans will use that to rise their budget, by betting on Atletico Madrid will no doubt increase, and it was already seen on majority UK online sites such as BettingTop10.

He has started this new football season have also started on a good note. During the summer break, he picked up the Ghanaian footballer of the year award from the country’s football governing body. This was done at last July which was the inaugural edition.

This will spur him on for the new season. He has been involved in all the games Atletico have played in so far this season, however most coming in as a substitute. This is a gradual process and will eventually pave way for him to get a short in the first team.

Thomas Partey has shown so far this season that he’s capable of playing in several positions on the field of play which is a reason to his game time at a club like Atletico that have loads of talented players on the bench.

The option he gives Diego Simeone to call on him for different roles makes him one of his trusted lieutenant at the club. This has also helped him get into the heart of the fans at the Metropolitano.

His contract at the club which runs till the summer of 2023 gives room for Partey to prove himself to the manager that he got what it takes to have a starting shirt at the club.

The departure of former Atletico captain, Gabi has opened more room for the Ghanaian to contest for a better playing minutes, which has to be earned on the field of play.

Looking at the situation at the club, it seems he has already started getting the dividend of his hard work. He started the last league game for Atletico which they however lost 2-0 away to Celta Vigo in the Spanish La liga. Played 56 minutes in Atletico loss to Celta Vigo and was yellow carded in the first half.

What is left of Partey is to continue putting in great work ethic that he’s been giving ever since he made his way into the first team for the 2017/2018 season. This kind of hard work will open ways for him in even bigger clubs in Europe.

He could be the jigsaw that link the old and fading Ghanaian football generation to the new ones. He could be the one that will win qualify and win Ghana next nation’s cup for them. We never can tell where consistent hard work can take them to.
