Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp is happy with the performance of this players in their 1-1 draw with Spartak Moskva.

Fernando gave the host the lead when he converted a beautiful free kick in the 23rd minute, but Philippe Coutinho equalised moments later, after a brilliant one-two with Sadio Mane.

Despite dropping two more points for the second game running, Klopp remains satisfied with how his players performed in Russia.

“I’m more happy with the performance than the result, because part of the performance is creating chances and we created a lot of chances,” Klopp said after the game.

“Every Spartak player had to work really hard to get this point somehow. We were not lucky in a few situations.

“It was a wonderful free-kick, to be honest. Then we equalised and had five 100% chances to score more. But we only got a point, that’s how it is. The race is still open, we’re only in the middle of the race.

“The chances we created tonight were enough to score two, three or four goals. It was a very intense game from our side. They had to defend all game. We have to be more clinical, that’s 100% sure, but we had the chances.

“The only way we can change things is to do what we did tonight again and again and again. It was a really crazy game. The result feels average.

“Spartak defended with big passion, big hearts. They deserved the draw. Also, Spartak had some important players missing so they can be even better when they’re back. But we also can play better.

“[Sadio Mané] has spent too long without a game so he needs to adapt to such intensity. That’s why we had to replace him.”

Club captain, Jordan Henderson re-echoed this manager’s thought, adding that they are disappointed not to have won.

“We should have won, so we’re all disappointed,” Henderson said. “The way we controlled the game and the chances we created, we should have won comfortably.

“On another day it could have been 3-0 or 4-0,” he added.
