President Federation Cup: Rivers Angels begin defence with 12-0 win

Cup holders, Rivers Angels, began their title defence with a commanding 12-0 win over NAF Queens in the women’s Round of 32 fixtures of the 2026 President Federation Cup concluded on Monday across various centres in the country, www.aclsports.com reports.

At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, Rivers Angels produced the most dominant performance of the round as Peace Effiong netted four late goals, while Grace Saliu scored twice in a devastating attacking display. Abasiofon Uwah, Patience Otubo, Ramotalahi Kareem, Tejiri Edward, Zainab Oduga and Chisom Nwachukwu also found the back of the net for the title holders.

FC Robo Queens edged Rangers Women 3-2 in one of the standout fixtures of the day. Mariam Yahaya scored a brace for FC Robo, while Ajakaye Opeyemi added the decisive third goal. In Enugu, Abia Angels secured a 2-0 victory over Ikukwoma Queens to progress to the next round.

Remo Stars Ladies recorded a comfortable 3-0 win against Onimarg FC at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. Chiamaka Orjialor scored twice before Khadijah Anifowose sealed the victory late in the encounter.

Elsewhere, Ahudiyannem Queens delivered a commanding 5-0 win over Moje Queens in Asaba, while Heartland Queens overwhelmed Dragon Fury Ladies FC 6-0 in Benin.

Ibom Angels advanced courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Fortress Ladies FC in Enugu, with Kelechi Chukwunlem and Happiness Agboye getting on the scoresheet.

Bayelsa Queens progressed with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Pace-Setters Queens at the Awka City Stadium, thanks to Kesiana Ojiyovwi’s second-half strike.

Sunshine Queens recorded a convincing 5-0 triumph over Solo Wonders FC. Aishat Adebowale registered a hat-trick, while Precious Edewor and Alheri Ayuba also contributed goals.

Delta Queens defeated Royal Queens 5-0 at the Akure Township Stadium, while Edo Queens secured a 3-1 victory over Ghetto Tigers FC. Chioma Moses opened the scoring before Esther Inyang doubled the advantage, with NWFL Premiership leading scorer Atume Doosuur adding the third goal for Edo Queens.

Naija Ratels booked their place in the next round following a 5-2 victory over Mighty Jets FC in Lafia.

Former champions Nasarawa Amazons also progressed after a convincing 4-0 win over Osklean FC at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu. Ayatsea Hambafan, Alani Jumoke, Shobowale Odushola and Joy Igbokwe were all on target for the Amazons.

Plateau United Queens and Confluence Queens both advanced to the Round of 16 via 3-0 walkovers against Osun Babes FC and Galiant Queens FC respectively, while Esthinyaton FC claimed a 3-0 victory over Fuoye Queens in Asaba.
